Patchogue-Medford School District Celebrates School Board Recognition Week

  • PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2023) —Service as a Board of Education member is a volunteer endeavor that demands dedication, time and concern for the education and well-being of the children of one’s community. The New York State School Boards Association sets aside one special week each year to honor these exceptional individuals, known as School Boards Recognition Week.

    This year, School Board Recognition Week occurred from October 16th to October 20th. In Patchogue-Medford, the Patchogue-Medford Board of Education received heartfelt acknowledgments from various local elected officials for their invaluable service at their recent Board of Education meeting.

    The following distinguished officials took the time to express their gratitude and recognition to the members of the Patchogue-Medford Board of Education:

    ·        New York State Senator Dean Murray

    ·        New York State Assemblymen Joseph DeStefano, Jarett Gandolfo, and Doug Smith

    ·        Suffolk County Legislator Dominic Thorne

    ·        Brookhaven Town Supervisor Edward Romaine

    ·        Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley

    ·        Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri

    The dedicated individuals on the Patchogue-Medford Board of Education have made a positive impact on our children, our schools and the broader Patchogue-Medford community. Their commitment to the education, safety and development of District students is extraordinary and well-deserving of the high praise they did receive.

    The Patchogue-Medford School District extends its appreciation to all those involved in supporting School Board Recognition Week. We are immensely grateful for the commitment and tireless efforts of our Board of Education members who continue to work diligently to enhance the educational and life experiences of our students.
